The Mental Health Academy (MHA) is hosting its free online Suicide Prevention Summit Aug. 26–27. The summit is an opportunity to learn and interact with peers and live Q&A sessions will be held with the 10 presenters.
This year’s presenters are Susie Reynolds Reece; Jonathan B. Singer, PhD, LCSW (Loyola-Chicago); David A. Jobes, PhD (Catholic University); Kevin Berthia (Kevin Berthia Foundation); Manaan Kar Ray, MBBS, MRCPsych, (Princess Alexandra Hospital, Australia); Laura Shannonhouse, PhD, EdS, MEd (Georgia State University); Hilary Lin, MD (Curio); Chad Luke, PhD (St. Bonaventure); DeQuincy Meiffren-Lézine, PhD (Lived Experiences Academy); and Rochelle Hamilton, MS (Volunteers America Western Washington).
Presentations will cover the following topics among others:
- Suicide Prevention and Artificial Intelligence
- A Commonsense Approach to Clinical Suicidology
- PROTECT: Navigating Risk vs. Recovery: Practical Uses of the Care Compass
- Clinical and Lay Implications from a Partially Nested Randomized Control Trial of the BE WITH Innovation
- Ketamine-Assisted Therapy for Treatment-Resistant Depression
- The Neuroscience of Suicidal Ideation and Behavior
All registrants will receive a downloadable copy of MHA’s “Fit Your Own Mask First: Professional Self-Care for Helpers” program. Webinar recordings will be available to paid attendees ($10) until Oct. 29.
