- RCTP-Launches-HS-BCP-Credential

The Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE) has launched the Registered Credential Training Provider (RCTP) program for the Human Services-Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP) credential.
The RCTP program formally recognizes colleges, universities, and other qualified training organizations that deliver instruction aligned with the HS-BCP competency framework. Through this designation, approved providers can offer HS-BCP–aligned coursework that prepares students and practitioners to meet rigorous national standards in human services practice.
“The launch of the RCTP for the HS-BCP is an important pathway designed to strengthen workforce readiness, elevate professional standards, and expand access to quality human services education,” says Winifert Lawson-Graves, CCE’s Director of Business Development and Marketing.
The HS-BCP credential validates foundational and advanced competencies essential to effective human services practice, including ethical decision-making, client advocacy, service coordination, cultural responsiveness, and professional communication. The new RCTP program ensures that education and training providers deliver consistent, high-quality instruction mapped directly to these competencies.
“Human services professionals play a vital role in supporting individuals, families, and communities,” says Dr. Lawson-Graves. “The RCTP program helps ensure that training programs are aligned with best practices and that graduates are well prepared to pursue the HS-BCP credential and enter the workforce with confidence.”
Council for Standards in Human Services Education (CSHSE) member programs have a clear pathway to become an RCTP if their human services curriculum meets the standards for the HS-BCP credential. CSHSE programs may qualify for waivers of the credential’s 350-hour experience requirement, further accelerating credential attainment for their graduates.
By partnering with education and training providers, the RCTP program expands access to credential-aligned learning across diverse regions and populations. This approach supports workforce development goals, improves service quality, and promotes professional mobility within the human services field.
