• I have many years of counseling experience but have not taken the required distance counseling training course. Who is the CCE approved training provider?

All applicants are required to complete the ReadyMinds distance counseling training course to qualify for the DCC certification.

Why should I obtain the DCC credential?

A Distance Credentialed Counselor (DCC) will be nationally recognized as a professional with training in best practices in Distance Counseling. Benefits of obtaining the DCC include:

I have completed the required training through ReadyMinds and have a limited License. I will finish my requirements within the next year. Am I qualified for the credential?

In order to be eligible for the DCC credential, applicants must be FULLY licensed to practice counseling or a related field in the State or Country in which the candidate resides or works AND/OR be certified in good standing as a National Certified Counselor (NCC). If you have completed the ReadyMinds training, you will have up to five years to obtain NCC certification or a professional license to practice counseling or a related field. Once you have fulfilled this requirement, you will be eligible to apply for the DCC Credential.

I sent my application with the required money. My check was cashed. Doesn’t this mean I should be certified now?

The application fee is a processing and reviewing fee. Your file must be reviewed to assure you meet all requirements. Please allow 4-6 weeks for your application to be reviewed.
