ACS Credential Maintenance The ACS certification is valid for a five-year period. The expiration date for the certification will be August 31, five years from the initial certification date. To maintain your ACS credential, you must pay your annual maintenance fee every year and recertify at the end of the 5 year period. Annual Maintenance Fee The maintenance fee is $35.00. You will receive a renewal notice once a year around July 15, and the fee will be due by August 31. Failure to pay this fee may result in your credential being inactivated. If your credential becomes inactive, you will need to submit a Reinstatement Application along with a $50.00 reinstatement fee and all past due fees in order to reinstate your credential. Recertification/Continuing Education Requirements Recertification is necessary every 5 years. You will receive a recertification notice around July 15 of the recertification year along with your renewal notice. In order to recertify, you will need to be able to document completion of 18 hours of continuing education during your five-year certification period.
