Guidelines for Continuing Education
The GCDF requires 75 CE clock hours every five years. These hours must meet CCE requirements regarding competency area and activity type, as described below.
The following activities do not qualify for continuing education:
- Consulting work;
- Courses in personal self-improvement
- Trade shows
You may participate in CE activities from any qualified provider, not just those approved by CCE.

An activity may qualify for CE credit if you can answer “yes” to the following questions :
- Helping Skills
- Labor Market Information and Resources
- Diverse Populations
- Ethical and Legal Issues
- Career Development Models
- Employability Skills
- Training Clients and Peers
- Program Management/Implementation
- Promotion and Public Relations
The activity must also be an approved method for earning continuing education.
